A lot can happen in 10 years. Since we began this journey a little over 10 years ago, we have grown leaps and bounds and our hearts have been knitted together forever with the Hollywood Family. 10 years ago we were two kids, filled with love for our father, willing to do HIS will whatever it was. Thus, the father called us to this noble and honorable work of being pastors in the great Church of God of Prophecy. We were not bred for pastoral ministry; we were called. And so, with great fear and trembling, along with faith and conviction we answered the call to pastor the Hollywood Family Church of God of Prophecy. I heard someone say once, "He doesn't call the qualified, he qualifies the CALLED." To God be the glory for he has raised us up and equipped us among men to do his work. Woe to him who thinks he, of his own volition, is qualified to do this work. Proverbs 3:5-6 "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Today was our last service at the Hollywood Family Church of God of Prophecy as pastors. One can’t move forward without reflecting on the past. It has been a great and awesome responsibility to serve God’s people whom he loves so dearly. We wouldn’t take anything away from our time together and we certainly wouldn’t take a single moment back. A few things to and about the Hollywood Family: 1. WE absolutely, emphatically, and wholeheartedly LOVE the Hollywood Family Church of God of Prophecy. These are our spiritual moms and dads, grandparents, and brothers and sisters whom we care for deeply and will always cherish. They have blessed us, prayed for us, encouraged us, and walked beside us when we were both abound and abased. It’s hard to capture 10 years of a loving relationship in a single blog post, but I hope you can see the picture. We love the Hollywood Family COGOP and know that our love for them is reciprocated. They have expressed their love for us in numerous ways over the years, not to mention our most recent showering of love, gifts, and affection. Hollywood, we are forever grateful and appreciative. 2. We have completed our assignment. Just as we did at the very beginning of this journey, we continue to trust God to be our guide for the next chapter of our lives. He has been an awesome, faithful guide. There is no reason why we are not able to continue to put our complete and total trust in him for this chapter. And so, it is with great fear and trembling, along with faith and conviction that we answer the call of God yet again. In the words of William Shakespeare, “parting is such sweet sorrow.” Although we will miss our church home of over 35 and 20 years (David and Gia respectively) and our family and friends whom we have worshiped, fellowshipped, and grown with weekly, we find comfort in knowing that God is in control. 3. We will continue to pray for and lift up our family and friends at the Hollywood Family Church of God of Prophecy. Remember, you have been commissioned to: DO. GO. SERVE. Colossians 3:23-24 - DO Whatever you DO, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for human masters, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving. Matthew 28:19-20 - GO Therefore GO and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the very end of the age.” 1 Peter 4:10 - SERVE Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to SERVE others, as faithful stewards of God’s grace in its various forms.
